The South Carolina Junior Golf Association Players of the Year – Trace Crowe (Bluffton, SC) and Reona Hirai (Summerville, SC) – hope to repeat the SC sweep of 2011 when Matt Nesmith and McKenzie Talbert, both of North Augusta, SC, won the titles that year.
Benjamin Griffin (Chapel Hill, NC) and Clementina Rodriguez (Venezuela) are back to take a shot at bettering their last performance by one position. Both players finished runner up in the last playing of the Sea Pines Junior Heritage. Seven players are back that finished in the top ten in 2012. Their experience should make them favorites on the leaderboard heading into the tournament. Matt Cheng, Sawyer Shaw, Joshua Martin, Aaron Terrazas are retuning on the boys side and Bryana Nguyan, Sierra Brooks, and Ana Ruiz are looking to take the girls’ title.
